The Egadi Islands are an archipelago located between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Sicilian Channel. It is located about 7 km from the western coast of Sicily, between Trapani and Marsala. The archipelago consists of three main islands – Favignana, Levanzo, and Marettimo – and two islets, as well as numerous rock formations and sea stacks. The archipelago is a popular tourist destination, especially for its natural beauty and the presence of the Egadi Islands Marine Nature Reserve, a vast protected marine area.

Scopello and the Zingaro Nature Reserve

Scopello is a beautiful seaside town located on the western coast of Sicily, a few kilometers away from the city of Castellammare del Golfo. The beauty of this place lies in its rocky coast and crystal-clear waters, which attract tourists from all over the world. In particular, the famous “Tonnara di Scopello” represents one of the most iconic sites in the area, thanks to its ancient tuna factory, now converted into a museum, and its splendid pebble and rock bay. Scopello also offers other naturalistic attractions, such as the Zingaro Nature Reserve, a natural park with breathtaking views, hidden beaches, and unique flora and fauna.

San Vito Lo Capo

San Vito Lo Capo is a renowned seaside resort located on the northwestern coast of Sicily, a few kilometers from the city of Trapani. The beach of San Vito Lo Capo, which is about 3 kilometers long, is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy and is surrounded by unspoiled nature, with high limestone cliffs and a sea with a thousand shades of blue.

Favignana

Favignana is the main island of the Egadi archipelago, located off the western coast of Sicily, between Trapani and Marsala. The island is known for its white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, which attract tourists from all over the world. Among the most famous beaches on the island are Cala Azzurra, Cala Rossa, and Lido Burrone. Moreover, the island offers numerous archaeological sites, such as the Punic necropolis of Cala Rotonda and the prehistoric caves of Grotta del Genovese and Grotta del Pozzo. Favignana is also famous for its production of tuna, which has been one of the island’s main economic activities for centuries.

Levanzo

Levanzo is the smallest island in the Egadi archipelago, with a surface area of just 5 km². Despite its small size, the island is highly appreciated by tourists for the beauty of its landscapes and the presence of some spectacular caves. Among these, the most famous is the Grotta del Genovese, one of the most important archaeological sites in Sicily, where numerous artifacts dating back to the Neolithic period have been found.

Marettimo

Marettimo is the furthest island of the Egadi archipelago, located about 35 km off the western coast of Sicily. The island is characterized by unspoiled and wild nature, with breathtaking views of the coast and the sea. Marettimo offers numerous opportunities for hiking and nature lovers, with trails leading to panoramic peaks, sea caves, and remote beaches.

Palermo

Arrival and transfer to Palermo. Boarding at 5:00 p.m. welcome cocktail on board and informative briefing. Depart to Castellamare. Dinner on board and overnight.

Sunday

Scopello – Zingaro Natural Reserve

After breakfast on board you will explore the wonderful Zingaro Natural Reserve, departing from Scopello. A peak into a VII century courtyard (in Arabic bahal), surrounded by houses, a small square, for centuries a place also for “Tonnare” (places where they trapped and worked tuna fish). Lunch on board and bow heading toward overwhelming mountains, deep indentations, and the wide valleys of the sea in the reserve for the 7 km of coastline. Dinner and overnight on board.

Monday

San Vito Lo Capo

Breakfast on board. Sailing to this delightful site, where the coastline made of rocks opens and forms one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Sicily, with fine white sand that at different time of the day becomes golden. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.

Tuesday

Levanzo island

Breakfast on board. Sailing to Levanzo island, the smallest of the Egadi, covered by hills that culminate in Pizzo del Monaco. The northern part of the island is a succession of rocky, steep and beautiful caves. Between Levanzo and Sicily’s coast you can spot Maraone and Formica islets. Dinner and overnight on board.

Marettimo island

Wednesday

Breakfast on board. Excursion to discover several caves lining the coast and which open on steep slopes. Among them you find the Camel’s Cave, with the bottom of a small pebble beach, the Thunder ‘s Cave, the Perciata Cave, and in particular the Crib’s Cave, where rocks have been shaped by the wind and water and look like the statues of the nativity scene. For those who wish it is available an additional trip to the island’s National Park in collaboration with the local boatmen.

Thursday

Favignana island

Breakfast on board. Sailing to Favignana island, whose small port is located in a wide bay dominated by the Fort of St. Catherine on top (now a military garrison). All around there are beautiful beaches and caves: Cala Azzurra and the wide beach of Lido Burrone. Guests can also visit the Blue Grotto (named after the colour taken from the water), the Cave of Sighs, where in winter you can hear its moaning, and the Lovers’ Cave, so called for the two identical rocks placed on the back wall.

Friday

Favignana – Trapani – Erice

After breakfast, morning devoted to relaxation and shopping. After lunch, destination Trapani where you can go ashore for a visit to the city itself and the lovely Erice (optional). Dinner at your choice and overnight on board.

Breakfast on board. Arrival before 9.00. End of our services.
